What is ADAS calibration?
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) include lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. After a windshield replacement, these cameras must be recalibrated to work properly. We do it in-house — no need to visit a dealer.

ADAS calibration typically costs $300–$500 if done separately. When you file a glass claim through SGI, calibration is included at no extra cost — SGI covers it as part of your windshield replacement claim.

How do I know if I should claim or pay out of pocket?
For windshields with a package policy ($50–$100 deductible), claiming almost always makes sense. For door glass or side glass where cost may be under $700, out-of-pocket is often cheaper. Not sure? Start either path or call us — we’ll give you an honest answer.
Do I need to call SGI before coming to you?
For windshield damage — no. We file directly with SGI on your behalf. For back glass, SGI requires a claim first. We can walk you through it.
Can I just pay out of pocket?
Yes. For stone chips, door glass, or when your deductible exceeds repair cost, we’ll give you a direct quote.
Will a glass claim affect my insurance rates?
No. SGI’s Safe Driver Recognition only penalizes at-fault collisions and traffic convictions. A windshield hit by a rock is a road hazard — not at fault. Your rates stay untouched.
How long does it take to replace my windshield?
Windshield replacements typically take 2 to 3 hours for basic installations. For more advanced windshields with features like cameras or sensors, the process may take the full day to ensure proper calibration.
How fast can I get my glass fixed?
Most replacements are same-day or next-day.
Do you come to my home or workplace?
We offer limited mobile service within city limits. All mobile service is weather dependent.
Can I wait while my windshield gets replaced?
A typical windshield replacement takes approximately 3 hours so we do recommend dropping your vehicle off. We do, however, have waiting space if this is not possible.
Can I drop my vehicle off the day before?
Yes! We have a key drop to accomodate off-hour drop offs.
Can you repair a small chip or crack in my windshield?
Yes! If your windshield has a small chip or crack, we recommend getting it repaired as soon as possible to prevent further damage. In many cases, small repairs can save you the cost of a full replacement.
How do I know if I need a windshield repair or replacement?
If the damage is small (less than the size of a loonie) and not in your direct line of sight, a repair is often possible. Larger cracks or damage near the edges of the windshield typically require a full replacement.
Do you work on specialty vehicles, like classic cars or heavy equipment?
Yes! We provide custom glass solutions for classic vehicles, heavy equipment, and even marine applications. Our expert technicians can cut and install glass to meet your specific needs.
How do I care for my new windshield after installation?
After your windshield is installed, avoid washing your car for at least 24 hours to let the adhesive fully cure. We also recommend not slamming doors and avoiding bumpy roads for a few days to allow the glass to settle properly.
